Note to authors
IMPORTANT: Author's responsibilities
NEW: WorldSciNet OPEN ACCESS
All submissions to IJIG are handled electronically. Manuscripts must be submitted online via Editori
al Manager (EM), a fully web-based submission, peer-review, and tracking system. Upon submission authors should specify to which section the paper belongs.
New Authors: If you are submitting via this new system for the first time, you will first be required to register. From the account you create, you will be able to monitor your submission and make subsequent submissions.
Manuscripts should be written in English with a brief abstract, a list of keywords and the author's mailing address. Authors are requested to put on the manuscript the mailing address to which proofs and reprint order form should be sent. All contributions will be reviewed by at least two independent experts.
Upon acceptance of an article, the author(s) will be asked to transfer copyright of the article to the publisher. This transfer will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information. A biographical sketch and photograph of each author are also to be supplied to the Publisher.
The manuscript should be prepared for publication in accordance with the following guidelines:
- The manuscript must be typed on one side of the paper in double spacing with wide margins. All pages should be numbered consecutively. References, tables and figure legends should be typed on separate pages.
- The first page of the manuscript should contain the title of the paper, the name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) of the author(s). An abbreviated title (for running heads) should also be listed.
- Immediately following the abstract, a list of 5-10 keywords are to be supplied. These terms should be relatively independent (coordinate index terms), and as a group should optimally characterize the paper.
- To have good photographic reproduction, all drawings for figures and diagrams should be submitted on separate sheets, drawn large size in Indian ink, with neat annotations. Except for a reduction in size, they will appear in exactly the same form in the final printed version.
- Number all references alphabetically according to the following samples:
- T. Pavlidis, Structural Pattern Recognition (Springer, Berlin, 1977).
- D. N. Perkins, "Why the human perceiver is a bad machine", in Human and Machine Vision, eds. J. Beck et al. (Academic Press, New York, 1983), pp. 341-364.
- W. Richards and D. D. Hoffman, Computer Vision, Graphics, Image Processing 31, 265 (1985).
- A. Rosenfeld, "Some pyramid techniques for image segmentation", Technical Report 1664, Centre for Automation Research, University of Maryland, May 1986.
Any manuscript which does not conform to the above instructions may be returned to authors for revision before publication. Detailed instructions are available at (Latex2e readme / Download)
Authors will be provided with 25 free reprints. Purchase orders for additional reprints can be made on order forms, which will be sent to the first author.
Benefits
The successful operation and distribution of this proposed journal will make available to industry and academia a more effective communication channel for image and graphics related technologies. There are several aspects of benefits brought about by this journal:
- Publication of research results of high quality
- Advocation of direct applications of research results
- Identification of challenging research topics
- Presentation of the state-of-art technologies and future directions
- Enhancement of institutional capacity for consulting, contract research and other service activities
- Extension of international links among different research groups and industrial divisions
Publication Frequency
The journal is published quarterly. It is expected that a large number of established universities, national laboratories, and some government security and intelligence organizations will subscribe to the journal. The subscription rate is expected to increase as the awareness of the importance of image and graphics is rapidly increases.
Management
International Journal of Image and Graphics will be featured as a periodic journal with four issues each year. To ensure the high standard of this journal in the international academic and industrial communities, there is one editorial board for the management. The members of the editorial board are all active researchers representing different countries and regions, which will be responsible for the publicity of the journal and paper review.
