For Authors: Guidelines for Contributors
  1. Manuscripts that have not been published elsewhere should be submitted online. This is a fully web-based submission, peer-review, and tracking system. They will then be assigned to one of the Associate Editors, who will handle the review process.
  2. New Authors: If you are submitting via the online system for the first time, you will first be required to register. From the account you create, you will be able to monitor your submission and make subsequent submissions.
  3. Submission of a manuscript indicates a tacit understanding that the paper is not under consideration for publication with other journals.
  4. All papers are to be written in English, with the preferred style being American English. Manuscripts are to be prepared using either an MS Word file or a LaTeX file. Detailed instructions on how to prepare your manuscript will be forthcoming. Note that a delay in publication may occur for accepted papers which do not adhere to the guidelines for manuscript preparation.
  5. Figures, tables and chemical structures are preferably to be prepared in MS Word, ChemDraw, JPG, TIFF, or EPS file format with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.
  6. It is the author's responsibility to obtain written permission to reproduce previously published materials.
  7. Upon acceptance of an article, the author(s) is assumed to have transferred the copyright of the article to the publisher. This transfer will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information.
  8. There is no page charge for the journal.
  9. The regular cost of a color page is US$100. The color charge decreases as the number of color pages for a given article increases. Authors who publish frequently in JPP and/or who are SPP (Society of Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines) members also receive a lower (or waived) rate.
  10. Each article will be provided free of charge to the corresponding author (unless another recipient is indicated) as a Portable Document Format (PDF). Purchase orders for additional reprints or PDF files can be made on order forms, which will be sent to the corresponding author.
