Mahidol University is ranked as the #1 university in Thailand in a recent QS.com Asian University Ranking 2009. Over 5,000 research and academic staff, and over 25,000 students now have access to all World Scientific journals.

Trial Announcement: National Medical Library - Electronic Resources in Medicine (NML-ERMED) consortium in India will take part in trials for World Scientific medical and life science journals. The consortium aims to provide Medical e-resources to medical colleges and research institutions across India. As of 2009, they have 72 government funded institutions and 4 private institutions as members.

Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Sciences (M3AS) retains its spot among the top 10 journals in Applied Mathematics. Its impact factor increased from 1.671 to 2.333 this year, making it the 6th out of 175 journals in the ISI Applied Mathematics category.

Three (3) World Scientific journals registered a triple digit percentage increase in their impact factors. The journals are:

• International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems (IJUFKS) which increased by 166%
• Coastal Engineering Journal (CEJ) which increased by 139%

World Scientific announces partnership with SWETS on the promotion of World Scientific journals in Indonesia and Philippines. SWETS, which has been operating since 1901, is one of the most experienced in catering to library's needs, and we are very happy to work with them on the promotion and distribution our journals in these markets.

World Scientific participates in Special Libraries Association (SLA) 2009 conference. This was our 4th year attending the event and a booth was set up, to display our products and to meet up with librarians who visited the fair. We also sponsored the Physics-Astronomy-Mathematics (PAM) Division's Physics Roundtable for the 3rd year running.

CAPES (Brazil) renews its licence for the full collection of World Scientific journals. CAPES which stands for Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education) represents over 150 institutions in Brazil. With the renewal, all member institutions will continue to enjoy access to World Scientific journals

World Scientific has entered into a new collaborative venture with the Society of Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines (SPP) to publish Journal of Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines (JPP). All journal issues from 1997 onwards will be published and available from World Scientific's platform.
